Jim Zimmerman - drums

 

Drummer Jim Zimmerman tours regularly with world renowned vocalists Dame Cleo Laine and Dianne Schuur. He has performed throughout the world from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo's Blue Note jazz club with a rich roster of artists including Peggy Lee, Michael LeGrand, the Spinners, the Temptations, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett.


Jim’s recording credits include both television--“Peanuts” specials (with pianist Vince Guaraldi), and film--“Bicentennial Man” (Robin Williams), “True Stories” (David Byrne), and “Rumblefish” (Matt Dillon). He has performed and recorded with jazz legends Toots Thielmans, Dianne Schuur, Joe Williams, Jerry Mulligan, Art Pepper, Blue Mitchell, and several albums with Cleo Laine, including the Grammy Award winning, “Live at Carnegie Hall.”


Beyond his extensive experience in the jazz and show arenas, Jim is a gifted composer, a published author in music education, a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and is widely accomplished in classical percussion.
